2025 Ford F-150

Since 1948, the Ford F-Series has been the pinnacle of full-size pickup trucks. From job sites to remote trails, Ford's trucks are tough. The Ford F-150 is the most versatile of the group, offering a rugged design that handles as well on the road as off of it, and it can dress up or be athletic when needed. If you're looking for a versatile, dependable, and hard-working truck, the 2025 Ford F-150 is the ideal ride.

For the latest model year, the foundation of the Ford F-150 remains largely unchanged. That's a good thing, with a plethora of powertrain choices, cab and bed combos, add-on packages, and other ways to customize your full-size truck. Your F-150 will transform into an elegant daily driver, a towing beast, an off-road powerhouse, and more.

Seven trim levels are available, from the entry-level XL to the adventurous Tremor to the luxurious Platinum. Others are geared toward certain applications and aesthetics, like the sporty STX and the work-meets-sophistication King Ranch. New additions for 2025 include the STX Lobo, a package upgrade inspired by street racers, with new equipment to boost amenities and style. Each trim offers increasing levels of comfort, materials, and infotainment features.

The 2025 Ford F-150 is the ultimate truck for capability, going wherever it is needed. Add the impressive technology, adaptable cabin, and array of options, and you have a truck that will serve your personal or business needs for decades. It's undeniably classic, yet it has all the mechanical upgrades and conveniences you desire from a modern truck.

Performance

Whatever you're looking for from your 2025 Ford F-150, there's a powertrain combination that provides a solution. This truck has four different engines available, with rear-wheel drive (RWD) for everyday practicality or four-wheel drive (4WD) for rough terrain and poor conditions. Here's a glimpse at the four powerplants, each of which comes with a smooth and durable ten-speed automatic transmission.

The base 2.7L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 makes 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, giving you everyday power and efficiency for long trips or highway cruising, exclusively in RWD. Following that, the 5.0L V8 produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque for boosted acceleration and better capabilities without breaking the bank.

The 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 offers 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, delivering the truck's highest possible towing and payload figures for demanding applications. Lastly, the 3.5L PowerBoost twin-turbo V6 is a hybrid powertrain that generates 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. It's exclusively in 4WD, yet it nets the model's best overall fuel efficiency figures while delivering incredible towing strength.

Hauling capability is non-negotiable with full-size trucks. The 2025 Ford F-150 reigns with a best-in-class 13,500-lb towing capacity using the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6, which also offers a massive payload capacity of 2,440 lbs. Even the engine rated lowest for towing (the base 2.7L V6) still registers an 8,400-lb capacity, letting you bring campers, equipment, materials, and anything else you need. Along with the powertrain, the exact capability depends on the cab and bed sizes, which we'll discuss shortly.

As for the chassis, the 2025 Ford F-150 has an independent double-wishbone front suspension for better handling and articulation, but it retains a solid axle leaf spring rear suspension for durability. Heavy-duty gas shocks provide a strong all-around ride quality, and optional packages can provide retuned shocks, a locking rear differential, a lifted suspension, and other enhancements.

Exterior

The abundance of choices on the 2025 Ford F-150 continues with the looks and layout. Like previous model years, there are multiple bed and cab options. The short 5.5-foot bed has 52.8 cu.ft. of cargo space, which is plenty for luggage or a couple of dirt bikes. High-level haulers may want the medium 6.5-foot bed with 62.3 cu.ft. or the eight-foot bed with a whopping 77.4 cu.ft. of storage area.

As for cabs, you can get a one-row cab (Regular), a two-row extended cab (SuperCab), or a two-row crew cab (SuperCrew). The SuperCrew cab is the best one for passenger comfort, while the Regular cab offers the best performance because of its shorter length and lower weight. All beds can be paired with all cab sizes, unlike other automakers that limit your combos. Pro Power Onboard is available on select trim levels, turning the truck bed into a portable generator.

Beyond the bed and cab, there are numerous other exterior features to love about the 2025 Ford F-150. High-visibility, long-lasting LED headlights are standard, and higher trim levels step up to LED taillights, fog lights, and even puddle lights. Each trim has unique wheels, grilles, and other accents. You can add auto-dimming side mirrors to improve rear visibility, extended running boards to protect the undercarriage, and a Pro Access tailgate with a swinging gate for easy access. The finishing touch is a confident, old-school aesthetic. At first glance, this truck lets everyone know it's not here for nonsense; it's here to get things done.

Interior

The inside of a truck may not get a lot of attention, but we think it's worth mentioning, as the 2025 Ford F-150 is made for long drives. Each cab has 43.9 inches of front legroom plus expansive head, shoulder, and hip room, so you and your front passenger never feel cramped. In the SuperCrew cab, you also receive 43.6 inches of rear legroom, letting adults ride comfortably. The SuperCab has 33.5 inches of rear legroom, which is enough for kids and preteens.

Materials and amenities depend on the trim level. Cloth upholstery, a manual driver's seat, power front lumbar adjustments, and manual climate control are standard on the lower trims. As you step up, you gain access to synthetic or genuine leather upholstery, a wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. There's even an optional sunroof to enjoy the weather.

Other notable standard and available interior features include a built-in compass, a convertible work surface to hold your laptop, Max Recline front seats to catch a quick nap, ambient lighting to improve visibility, rubber floor mats to protect against grime, and lockable storage to conceal your valuables. All knobs and controls are easy to use, letting you quickly set up so you can focus on the road.

Technology

Of all the things to love about the 2025 Ford F-150, its technology may be the most extraordinary. From infotainment to safety, this truck is fully loaded to keep you connected.

Let's look first at the infotainment tech, where every 2025 Ford F-150 has a standard 12-inch touchscreen and a matching 12-inch digital gauge cluster; there's no settling for small screens on lower trim levels. Standard features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, enhanced voice recognition, a FordPass subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and simple over-the-air software updates keep you connected. An onboard navigation system is available on most trim levels to plug in directions in seconds, viewing them on the infotainment screen.

Other optional premium tech includes a head-up display, a wireless charging pad, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a Bang & Olufsen 14-speaker sound system for serious audiophiles. Most of this tech is standard on the Lariat trim and above if you want the total package from the factory. Regarding safety, the 2025 Ford F-150 has a host of active driver assistance tech via its Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 safety suite, which contains numerous driver assistance features to aid you on any road or trail:

  • Front automatic emergency braking with pre-collision assistance
  • Post-collision braking
  • Blind spot monitoring with cross traffic alerts and trailering
  • An HD rearview camera
  • Lane-keeping assistance with lane departure warnings
  • Automatic high beams

Higher trims get Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0, which implements a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, reverse braking assistance, safe exit warnings, and hitching and backup assistance. BlueCruise, Ford's semi-autonomous driving tool, is also available for hands-free driving on compatible highways.
